Glowing's directors are three like-minded social change advocates, who through a strong bond of friendship have buit the Glowing charity as a vehicle to create opportunities for people disadvantaged by the complexity of the modern economy.
Steve Barry (El Capitano)
A firm believer in education as the key to overcoming the challenges facing humanity today, Steve is a passionate advocate for the education of children in 3rd world countries. Steve has been a director for Glo-wing for a number of years, with a focus on transitioning the corporate structure to become a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). Working in partnership with our supporting legal firm, Minter Ellison, Steve completed the corporate restructure to a special purpose company, paving the way to achieve DGR status and reducing administration cost.
David Licciardello (Paisano)
David is committed to helping disadvantaged children access quality education so they can be empowered in their lives and communities. He is passionate about sustainability and sees it as a solution to some of the complex problems we face as a global population. David believes that sustainable innovation and environmental education deserves, and requires economic support and investment to succeed. Through his role at Glowing he talks directly with communities to gain insight into their needs and how to best support them and advocate for them. David is also involved in fundraising and managing of the organisation.
Halim Nataprawira (Paesan)
Universalist, pet-lover, maker-of-fun-stuff. Halim has worked making coffee, in a kitchen, mustering cattle in the Queensland outback, but mainly teaches Indonesian online these days. He has taught at secondary and tertiary education and designs learning material for the Australian Curriculum. Holding qualifications in education, International Studies and linguistics (PhD), he also dabbles in music, graphic design, programming and video editing. Nonetheless, ever learning and sharing is his ultimate calling.
